Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) is “One to Watch”

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) is committed to using its resources for the development and marketing of lithium-powered products which can operate vehicles, commercial buildings and residential homes. The company has successfully converted scooters, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and homes into zero-emission, lithium-powered vehicles and facilities.

The company’s products have received massive attention from CNN, Forbes, Popular Mechanics, Wired magazine and other media sources. Marketing trend forecasters believe that the company’s all-lithium BMW AG Mini Cooper will become the new “it” car among the Hollywood crowd, who are no strangers to the company.

Because Hybrid Technologies’ vehicles are not run on gas, they require very low maintenance and can save users hundreds of dollars. Hybrid Technologies has signed contracts with NASA, the Canadian Ministry of Transportation, the City of New York, the US Navy, and Paratransit, a New York transportation company, among others. The media, government and public are taking note of the company’s vehicles and the demand could become very strong in the near future.

The Company was recently given a $5.30 target price by SISM Research as well as a ‘Speculative Buy’ Rating. SISM Research analyst Ernest C. Schlotter stated, “Electric powered vehicles will quickly gain meaningful share in the worldwide light vehicle market due to rising energy costs and increased emissions regulations. Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Uses Lithium as an Alternative Energy Source

About 40 miles North of Charlotte, NC, lies the headquarters for Hybrid Technologies, Inc. This emerging company uses lithium to power their line of new-age electric vehicles. It seems fitting that such innovation in the automotive field comes straight from Mooresville, NC, the birthplace of NASCAR. People here show a far greater interest in automobiles than an average American town.

Yesterday, the company announced the success of a recently staged “open house” at its Research & Development facility in Mooresville. There, Hybrid Technology models, such as the LiV™ FLASH, and LiV™ RUSH, were test-driven by state Congressional candidates Pat Smathers and Diane Hamby.

A statement was taken from a Hybrid Technologies shareholder at the event, who reminded reporters: “Electric vehicles are taking off now. We just need more people to realize the current availability.”

Ernest C. Schlotter, a four-star analyst with SISM Research, has initiated coverage on Hybrid, upon which he placed a “Speculative Buy/4″ Rating and a 12-month target price of $5.30. The stock closed today with a value of $4.00.

Hybrid has recently exited the development stage on its zero-emission lithium vehicles, with great success, and is now ready for commercial production, with the price-tag on one of its revolutionary cars starting at an astonishingly affordable $39,500. Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) is certainly “One to Watch”.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) has a HUGE Short Position, Making it an Excellent Candidate for a Short Squeeze

Hybrid Technology’s stock, HYBR, has been heavily shorted. In fact, approximately 34% of the entire float has been shorted; that’s about 5,654,300 shares. Interestingly enough, the shorters have been overpowered by bullish investors as the stock has risen more than 95% over the last two months.

For those who are not familiar with shorting, it is the opposite of buying. Instead of buying and then selling at a later date, a trader sells shares he doesn’t have and then later on buys them back from the broker. This puts him in a risky situation, however, since a substantial material event from the company would attract great buying pressure and spike the price per share, causing him to lose on the trade. In this situation, he would then have to cover his shares, further strengthening the Bull Run.

As you can see, a very large short position (such as the one in HYBR) could create a massive run if covered. This is what is commonly referred to as a “Short Squeeze”. The 30-day volume average for HYBR is 133,470, so just imagine if all 5,654,300 shorted shares were bought back on the same day in addition to substantial buying pressure! This is a very possible situation as any significant news could ignite the explosion.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) - High Gas Prices Fueling Demand for Alternative-Powered Cars and Trucks

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB), an emerging leader in the development and marketing of lithium-powered products worldwide, offers completely battery-operated, full performance vehicles that emit zero emissions, unlike many popular hybrids on the market today. In addition, due to the popularity of “green” initiatives, the company recently announced that The Discovery Channel is producing a series about lithium-powered cars and will feature Hybrid Technologies’ cars.

Rising fuel costs and environmental concerns will continue to support the sales of hybrid and electric cars, trucks and motorcycles. The big automakers are focusing on hybrid cars powered by both gasoline and electricity. According to a recent article in the New York Times, fully electric vehicles with zero emissions are fast emerging as the most promising new technology.

At $100 per barrel, fuel prices are at an all-time high. As fuel becomes more unavailable, prices are expected to continue to rise at a rapid pace. Even those who do not subscribe to global warming know that it is not possible to power the world’s vehicles on fossil fuels for the long term.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) - An Energy Hungry World Needs the Electric Car

No matter where you look, you see the effects of $115.00-dollar a barrel oil. The local gas stations are charging $3.57 a gallon for regular gasoline, and diesel fuel is well over $4.00 in most of the U.S. Heating oil this past winter was a massive burden on the middle class, and all of this expensive oil is “leaking through” to cause inflation at the very core of our economy. Just about every product we buy is shipped for the final miles via truck, and they all use hydrocarbons for fuel. The truckers are passing that cost to the buyers, who have no choice but to raise prices on finished goods. It’s a horrible cycle, not to mention the fact that every drop of oil we burn puts “some” amount of carbon pollution into our ecology.

Various studies have proven that if we could get the problem of battery technology solved, we could literally wean ourselves from 90 percent of our consumption of foreign oil, and this would also relieve a lot of the tensions we feel concerning terrorism. Because most of our imported oil comes from countries that aren’t terribly friendly towards us, supply disruptions are a constant concern. The idea that terrorists could use oil to “hold us hostage” plays deeply into our National Security Agenda.

This is where Hybrid Technologies Inc. shines through as a true practical solution to so much of our energy situation. Hybrid (which trades under the symbol HYBR.OB) was incorporated in Nevada in 2000 and is focusing its resources and efforts on the development and marketing of lithium-powered vehicles and products for commercial and residential properties. Everything from scooters, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and homes are being converted successfully to zero-emission, lithium power.

So, is the age old problem of battery technology solved? For all practical purposes, the answer is yes. Hybrid’s proprietary technology has produced lithium ion battery packs that can now fuel an electric vehicle at highway speeds for an incredible 120 miles, and yet will recharge via a standard household outlet overnight. Considering that the average person generally travels less than 30 miles each way on any given day, Hybrid has now made the electric car practical.

Practical is one thing, but how about fun, sporty, fast, exciting, and attractive? Yes, all that too. With several different models having already been created and tested, Hybrid has shown that it can supply anything from the most economical of all subcompacts, to a sports car with the speed and acceleration of the world’s finest, high-end sports cars.

The electric car isn’t a fantasy any longer. The technology is here and Hybrid has brought it to us in a commonsense approach that can only make the world a better place. With all the “green initiatives” and concerns recently about ethanol production competing with food production, the “well done” electric car has finally come of age.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) - Light Years Ahead in Electric Vehicle Technology

In this age of ever-increasing oil prices, Hybrid Technologies (HYBR.OB) recognizes that consumers are looking toward alternative methods of transportation and is focused on meeting the demand in this growing industry.

The media has vaulted alternative powered vehicles into the limelight. The major manufacturers have created flexible-fuel hybrids that use both fuel and electricity. David Friedman, research director at the Union for Concerned Scientists, was quoted that auto manufacturers “have been dragged kicking and screaming toward producing more fuel efficient products.”

Hybrid Technologies has a different focus. The company, founded eight years ago, has developed a line of fully-electric powered vehicles. The vehicles use rechargeable lithium batteries, whose technology was originally developed for use in the NASA space program. The lithium-powered vehicles can travel more than 120 miles on a single charge with no emissions. The vehicles are able to accelerate from 0 to 60 in a few seconds and can reach speeds of up to 80 mph.

In August 2007, Hybrid Technologies announced the development of its next generation rapid charger system. The advanced charger system has the capability to recharge a 35-40kWh system in less than four hours. This is a 65 percent faster rate than other chargers on the market today. This technology provides Hybrid with a distinct competitive advantage in the alternative vehicle market.

Hybrid’s vehicles run virtually silent and are maintenance free. No need for oil changes every three months. No need to change filters or schedule tune-ups. There is also no engine, transmission, spark plugs, fuel tank, starter, clutch, or muffler to worry about. The battery powered vehicles have less than 10 percent of the parts that a typical gas powered vehicle requires.

Providing a quiet, emission-free, maintenance-free vehicle with the capability to take a consumer to and from targeted destinations is a niche that Hybrid Technologies is prepared to fulfill.

Hybrid Technologies Inc. (HYBR.OB) Provides Salisbury Post with an Inside Look at their Product Line

Hybrid Technologies is a leader in the field of lithium battery powered products. They have recently opened their doors to the public and the media in order to spread the word of their products and receive feedback. The results have been overwhelming, and their product continues to make believers out of the skeptics. The most recent glimpse was provided to the Salisbury Post. The paper was granted with an up-close look and powerful test drive of their popular emission-free vehicles.

Hybrid Technologies’ off-road vehicle demonstrations of the LiVTM REAPER and BULLDOG surprised Salisbury Post Lifestyle Editor, Katie Scarvey. The reporter said of the experience that the vehicles were, “tearing over the terrain, kicking up grass and dirt, and barreling up and down steep creek banks.” This defies the traditional sentiment that hybrid cars have no power and have no place in the real world.

The company’s Mooresville, NC factory has also been featured on North Carolina’s CBS Affiliate WBTV, and has an upcoming 30 minute feature on Treasure HD Channel. In addition to their off-road vehicles, the company also offers compact sedans and even a sports car that is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60mph in less than 6 seconds.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Continues To Build Strong Ties with Governmental Agencies

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) utilized NASA technology in developing the rechargeable lithium batteries utilized in its line of electric powered vehicles. The relationship with NASA has continued to grow through the years.

In March 2006, Hybrid and NASA executed a Space Act Agreement, where Hybrid agreed to produce a lithium battery powered fleet of vehicles to be used at the John F. Kennedy Space Center. The NASA team selected military high-performance all-terrain vehicles; the PT Cruiser and the Hybrid Smart Car.

“NASA and its affiliated agencies create a tremendous opportunity for our corporation to utilize our most advanced technology, while working with the best and brightest the world has to offer,” stated Holly Roseberry, president of Hybrid Technologies. “The relationship between U.S. federal agencies, such as NASA, and private industry is a prime example of an American partnership that provides sustainable and powerful results.”

Early in its inception, Hybrid recognized the need for governmental agencies worldwide to move towards an emissions-free transportation fleet. The Hybrid vehicles are lighter, with only 10 percent of the parts compared to gas powered vehicles, run virtually silent, and are maintenance free. There is no need to schedule an oil change or tune-up, as there is no engine to service. To meet the needs of its potential clients, Hybrid has a variety of vehicles, motorcycles, and mopeds to choose from.

Hybrid has worked with the British Embassy in Mexico City on its alternative vehicle program. The Embassy selected the Mini-Cooper as its prime choice for the program, but will also incorporate PT Cruisers into its government replacement fleet. Mexico City is ranked among the cities with the worst air quality in the world.

The military agencies are another sector that Hybrid is focusing its efforts upon.
Hybrid is assisting the U.S. Navy to convert amphibious vehicles to utilize lithium batteries. The initial results have indicated that the integration of the Hybrid systems have enhanced the naval systems. The U.S. Army is also now testing the military grade line vehicles.

Hybrid Technologies continues to test and develop the new applications for its technology. The Company’s focus on strengthening its relationships with governmental agencies is one strong niche for its continued growth.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Shows Green Options for Home Living

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) is best known for its lithium battery powered vehicles. The company is not only focusing on developing and manufacturing 100-percent battery powered modes of transportation, but is also taking strides to implement its knowledge to create the world’s first truly hybrid home.

The Hybrid Living Home is located in Alberta, Canada, and combines the latest in alternative and renewable energy features. The Hybrid Living Home is not a simple prototype, but one that exemplifies luxury living. The French Country style home consists of six bedrooms, a nanny suite, seven bathrooms, a media room, a wine cellar, and a family/recreation area spread over 6,000 square feet of living space on three levels. To provide sufficient power to the home, a number of alternative energy systems have been incorporated into the Hybrid Living Home’s design.

A solar electric system will harness the sun’s rays to be directly converted into electricity. This reliable and maintenance-free source of power will use traditional roof solar panels and Power-Spar, which is a revolutionary technology that can provide electricity and thermal storage for use in heating.

A geothermal system will be used for the home’s climate control, since ground or groundwater temperature several feet under the Earth’s surface is constant year-round. Geothermal pipes buried underground will absorb the earth’s heat during the winter and carry it into the home. During the summer months, the system will absorb the home’s heat and deposit it into the cooler ground.

Wind turbines will capture the kinetic energy of the winds and convert it to electricity. The Hybrid Living Home will have a roof-mounted turbine, as well as a 150 kW remote turbine, which will provide electricity. In the event that excess energy is created, the excess power will be diverted to the local utility company for use by other consumers.

Lithium I-Cell batteries, which produce about twice the voltage of an average battery, will be used to store the power generated. The lithium cells not only produce more voltage, but also last twice as long as traditional batteries.

The design of the house was as thoroughly thought out as the power elements in the home. The orientation of the home allows it to maximize its ability to capture solar and wind energy. Low flow faucets, toilets, and showerheads, in conjunction with the rainwater harvesting system, allows for lower water usage. The use of low power, high- efficiency appliances and low-voltage, European lighting fixtures will assist in keeping daily power consumption down as well.

The Hybrid Living Home team also utilized more health conscious materials to finish the home. Natural fiber carpet were tacked into place rather than glued into place. Formaldehyde free insulation, low-VOC paints, and water based adhesives minimized “off-gassing”. A waterfall provides a natural humidifying effect, while a high-efficiency air system with UV and ionic filtration keeps the interior dust and allergen free.

Once the home is completed, Hybrid Technologies will open the Hybrid Living Home for public viewing for about a year. During that time, it will analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of all the systems for the possibility of future Hybrid Living Subdivisions.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) - The Ultimate Growth Story

It’s been said that oil over 100 dollars per barrel is the single greatest problem of our time. From fostering food inflation to creating terrorist opportunities, expensive energy affects everyone on the planet. So it’s of no surprise that when an investor finds a company that offers up the exact remedy for such a huge problem, he gets easily excited.

Each day, China is putting 20,000+ gasoline or diesel fuel vehicles on the road. The demand for oil in all its forms, from kerosene (used in jet fuel) to gasoline, propane, and butane is breaking historical records on a daily basis. With that in mind, imagine a company that can provide a vehicle that takes oil out of the equation, and saves money doing it. This is exactly what Hybrid Technologies Inc. is doing. Hybrid, trading under the symbol HYBR, is a research and development company focused on and engaged in the development of electric-powered vehicles and other products. Hybrid uses proprietary lithium ion battery packs, and unique battery management modules, to convert vehicles from conventional gasoline and diesel fuel systems to electric power.

First let’s look at the demand side of the equation. Is there a demand for what they provide? Up until very recently, the answer has actually been no. When oil was 10 dollars a barrel ten years ago, and we weren’t in a global war against terror, cutting back on the use of oil was simply not an immediate issue. But the world has changed mightily in ten years and now oil is 115 dollars per barrel and gasoline in Europe is the equivalent of $9.00 per gallon. Here in the States, diesel is over $4.10 nationally and gasoline is hovering around $3.50.

In many ways, the prices are crippling the middle class, and they are clamoring for change. In a lot of families, choices are being made every day - choices such as “if we go out to dinner tonight, we can’t afford to fill the car this week”. In major cities around the world, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Rome and a hundred others, having an electrically powered vehicle that uses no oil, and runs for pennies per mile, makes perfect sense.

Why would the average person, living in “any City, USA” want an electric vehicle? The answer is simple. It will cut down on our nation’s oil hunger, cut down on a family’s expenses, and contribute to a healthier environment. It doesn’t get much better than that. So first let’s look at cost savings on the energy itself. If you have a car that’s getting a really good gas mileage of, say, 30 miles to the gallon, and gasoline is costing you $3.50 per gallon, your cost per mile is close to 12 cents per mile, just for energy. (Over in Europe, their cost per mile on the same vehicle is 31 cents per mile).

Now instead, let’s say you can drive an all-electric vehicle that utilizes a 35kWh battery pack, and can travel 120 miles on a single charge. If we use an off peak example of 10 cents per kilowatt hour, even a completely dead battery would be fully charged and ready to deliver for fewer than 4 cents per mile. That’s a significant savings, almost 70 percent at times.

On top of the energy savings, there is the maintenance savings on the vehicle itself. An electric vehicle has one tenth the parts of a combustion engine car, and this removes all the bothersome, high ticket repairs. With only one moving part in an electric motor, you no longer need oil, spark plugs, ignition systems, converter boxes, transmissions, differentials, exhaust systems, catalytic converters and a host of other high maintenance items that are sure to break at some point. The old adage that “less is more” is certainly true when it comes to the electric vehicle.

Hybrid Technologies has been working for years to bring the best batteries, along with the best battery management systems, to market, and their recent developments have been home runs. The world is energy starved and clamoring for the very product that Hybrid has developed. The demand is there, and the demand is growing during each and every uptick in the oil market. The demand is growing from those concerned about our environment and our impact on the climate. The demand is also there from people who adore the simplicity of a “solid state” car, with very few parts to break down. This is a global story, and Hybrid is positioned perfectly to capitalize on the demand and growth of this exciting industry.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Designs Full Line of Electric Vehicles – Backed by Popular Lithium Batteries

Meeting the call for green alternatives and an increasingly protective demand of the world’s air supply, Hybrid Technologies (OTCBB: HYBR) has developed a line of off road vehicles powered by the company’s lithium-battery technology. The company has created a line of electric vehicles including cars, motorcycles, mopeds and scooters.

The company’s futuristic LiV RUSH hits 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, has speeds up to 80 mph, and travels 120 miles in one charge. The RUSH takes between 8 and 10 hours to charge, and features an LCD Touch Screen that displays the cars operating stats, such as miles remaining, power consumption, battery temperature, drive time and more.

Switching gears from pavement to dirt trails, Hybrid Technologies’ four-wheel drive all terrain vehicle, the LiV BULLDOG, reaches 40 mph, and runs between four to six hours at a time. The 2,672-pound vehicle was designed for recreational use, or farm, ranch, lodge and country road driving.

The company calls its CHP Chopper the Traveling Tribute, which was specifically designed to honor fallen officers of the California Highway Patrol. The motorcycle reaches speeds up to 50 mph, running for up to six hours at a time.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Sees Shorters Cover as Share Price Continues to Increase

On the 18th of last month, we reviewed the heavy short position in Hybrid Technologies stock when it was trading for approximately $3.50. Since then the stock has continued its bullish uptrend, reaching a high of $4.65 earlier this week; a 32.9% increase. Those who have shorted have appeared to recognize the value and potential of this stock as reported numbers have shown a reduction in shorted shares.

As explained earlier, shorting is the opposite of buying. Instead of buying and then selling at a later date, a trader sells shares he doesn’t have and then later buys them back from the broker. This puts the trader in a risky situation, since a positive announcement from the company would attract great buying pressure and spike the price per share, causing those who are short to lose on the trade.

Hybrid Technologies is an emerging leader in the development and marketing of lithium-powered products worldwide and could benefit from this trend.”

Continuing he said, “Currently, the market is limited because of high prices, but this technology has the potential to become mainstream as production volume increases. Subsequently, vehicle prices should decline.”

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Named as One of the Top 10 Early Contenders for the Automotive X Prize

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB), an emerging leader in the development and marketing of lithium-powered products worldwide, was recently named as one of the top 10 early contenders for Popular Mechanic’s Automotive X Prize, a $10 million competition to determine the most fuel-efficient cars in the world. The 64 entrants were evaluated on six factors: technological feasibility, fuel economy, design, performance, price, and production reality.

Hybrid Technologies has developed various chemistries internally for lithium-ion batteries, and has already surpassed the 100-mile-per-charge threshold. The winning X Prize vehicle will feature the following performance and aerodynamic specifications: charge between 100 and 120 miles; top speeds from 70 to 120 mph; engine power ranging from 48 to 78 kW; and full charges anywhere from six to 10 hours. In addition, the judges have test driven three of Hybrid Technology’s all-electric vehicles - the roadster, a Mini Cooper and a motorcycle - and were impressed with each vehicle’s performance.

Since Hybrid Technologies is not currently producing on a mass scale, the company will focus its development strategy on the X Prize to further fund future growth initiatives. Hybrid Technologies vehicles emit zero emissions, unlike many popular hybrids on the market today. Rising fuel costs and environmental concerns will continue to support the sales of hybrid and electric cars, trucks and motorcycles. According to a recent article in the New York Times, fully electric vehicles with zero emissions are fast emerging as the most promising new technology.
