Reign Sapphire Corp. (OTCQB: RGNP) is a direct-to-consumer, custom and branded jewelry company headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Reign’s mission is to provide ethical and sustainable jewelry direct to the modern consumer, marketed through sophisticated digital initiatives that speak directly to individuals through social media channels and personalized promotions. The company’s lean operating model ensures expenses are linked to order flow with flexible production schedules targeting just-in-time delivery, which in turn reduces or eliminates commodity risk. Reign is a member of the American Gem Trading Association, which is committed to fair trade and processing of gemstones.

Reign Sapphire Corp. owns and operates three divisions: Reign Brands, Reign Ventures and Reign Blockchain. Reign Brands features four unique, niche jewelry brands with separate social media followings:

- Reign Sapphires: Ethically produced, millennial-targeted sapphire jewelry sourced from Australia.
- Coordinates Collection: Custom jewelry inscribed with location coordinates commemorating life’s special moments.
- Le Bloc: Classic, customized jewelry.
- ION Collection by Jen Selter: Athleisure jewelry brand.

Reign Ventures is the company’s joint venture platform for investment and development of jewelry technology-related products.

Reign Blockchain authenticates its sapphires as conflict-free, allowing customers to wear products created by a company that shares their beliefs in human dignity and environmental stewardship. In 2018, Reign Blockchain is preparing to conduct an initial coin offering (ICO) for ReignCoin, subject to regulatory approval. ReignCoin will serve as Reign’s cryptocurrency as part of a blockchain-based loyalty reward program.

The company’s products are sold through a commission-based affiliate program that is supported by personalized email campaigns and promotions, celebrity promotion and gifting, digital advertising based on keyword purchases and sponsored ads, and creative publicity events and media outreach to attract maximum exposure. The successful launch of a company-wide social media influencer campaign across all its retail brands boosted Reign’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook followings by double digits within the first three weeks of going live.

Reign continues to seek out international partnerships, adding to the success it has already achieved in the Middle East, where its flagship store is in the Dubai Mall. The company recently teamed up with the original founder of its Coordinates Collection brand, Owen de Vries, who will lead its Europe and United Kingdom sales efforts. The Netherlands-based operation will proliferate Reign point-of-sales that are adapted for local language, digital marketing and customer service.

Reign Sapphire Corp. is led by president and CEO Joseph Segelman, who has also served on the board of directors since December 2014. Segelman earlier served as the Chief Executive Officer and managing director of Australian Sapphire Corporation, Shefa Mining Corporation and Spencer Lloyd & Associates. He is an experienced marketing and operations professional with over 20 years of experience in logistics and marketing, and extensive experience in the Australian mining and gem industry. He is also a director and board member of OBK (a Sydney, Australia, based charity) and a Captain (Chaplain) in the Australian Army reserves. Segelman is the author of “Take Action: Successful Australians Share their Secrets.” (Lothian Books, 2004).

The company’s board of advisors includes Andrea Hansen, jewelry marketing veteran and former president of the Women’s Jewelry Association; Jeremy Avitan, CPA and compliance executive; Michael Lawrence corporate lawyer and litigator, Doug Cole, corporate financier and entrepreneur, Thierry Chaunu, a luxury goods executive with prior senior management roles at Chopard, Christofle and Cartier, and Pinny Gwinisch, founder of Ice.com and adjunct professor at McGill and Rutgers University.

Reign Sapphire Corp. (RGNP) Backing New Cryptocurrency with Conflict-Free Australian Sapphires

- Reign Coin holders share in growth of network’s collectively-owned assets
- Crypto-dividends can be passively collected, air dropped into each coin holder’s wallet
- Blockchain-based Reign Coin’s loyalty rewards program backed by Australian sapphires

Reign Sapphire Corp. (OTCQB: RGNP), a unique direct-to-consumer, custom and branded jewelry company headquartered in Los Angeles, California, aims to launch an Initial Coin Offering (“ICO”) for Reign Coin, its sapphire-backed cryptocurrency, as soon as regulatory approval is received. Reign’s unique crypto model is supported by the company’s own Australian-sourced supply chain and features inventive crypto-dividends stemming from interest and growth transaction fees related to the network’s collectively-owned assets.

Reign CEO Joseph Segelman notes that the company’s groundbreaking Reign Coin offering will be backed by conflict-free Australian sapphires, which form an attractive and solid basis for the new cryptocurrency’s initial price and subsequent valuations.

“We are diligently working on this exciting project, and have applied for the relevant trademarks and patents,” Segelman said in a news release (http://nnw.fm/1to0S). “We are confident that Reign Coin will add long-term shareholder value and complement our existing businesses.”

Reign Coins are designed to earn interest and fees through transactions, which are then shared collectively by all coin holders in the network through crypto-dividends. Dividends can be air dropped to each holder’s Reign Coin wallet. A portion of the cumulative transaction fees can be reinvested into sapphires – the asset backing each Reign Coin – which are expected to increase the currency’s base price and improve the solidity of each coin. Reign expects to release Reign Coin’s white paper later this month and will update shareholders upon its availability.

Reign’s focus on providing conflict-free, ethically-sourced sapphires to its customers in a mine-to-finger approach is especially appealing to consumers wishing to know where their gemstones come from, Segelman said in a May 2017 article (http://nnw.fm/jA2fz).

“We can guarantee the plot of land practically within a couple feet of where the sapphires were mined from. We can also guarantee that it’s been mined in an ethical way, that the topsoil is environmental and gets replanted [post mining] and made good,” Segelman said. “We can provide that guarantee and the assurance that what you see is what you get, and that what’s on your finger we’ve been part of the whole process.”

The Gemological Institute of America (http://nnw.fm/1JhZ9) reports that millennials – a key consumer target for Reign – are the newest generation of gem and jewelry enthusiasts. They are “particularly inclined to take factors such as fair-trade status, sustainability, and human rights into account before making a purchase,” the report states.

Millennials are also keeping a close eye on the cryptocurrency frenzy, with 30 percent of those in the 18 to 34 age range stating that they would rather invest in a cryptocurrency such as bitcoin than government-backed stocks or bonds (http://nnw.fm/bbq0B). A recent poll from Swell Investing, a California-based investment company that focuses on social justice-oriented portfolios, reached the same conclusion (http://nnw.fm/qvMV0).

Reign’s lean operating model includes sharing central marketing and operational infrastructure throughout its three distinct, niche direct-to-consumer jewelry brands. The company is a member of the American Gem Trading Association, which is committed to fair trade and processing of gemstones. Reign Brands operates through four key divisions: Reign Sapphires, which offers ethically produced, millennial-targeted sapphire jewelry; Coordinates Collection, a provider of custom jewelry inscribed with location coordinates to commemorate life’s special moments; and Le Block, which offers classic customized jewelry and the athleisure jewelry brand ION Collection by Jen Selter.

Reign’s portfolio also includes Reign Ventures, a joint-venture platform for investment and development of technology-related products, and Reign Blockchain, which authenticates sapphires as conflict-free.

Reign Sapphire Corp. (RGNP) Delivers Conflict-Free Gems Directly to Consumers

- Retail sales of colored gemstones valued from $18 billion to $21 billion
- RGNP guarantees quality Australian gems that are favorable to modern ethical sensibilities
- Sapphires regained popularity with British royal engagement and are second only to diamonds in terms of natural hardness

In April 2015, Amnesty International reported that nearly 80 percent of public companies in the United States were failing to thoroughly check whether their supply chains included conflict minerals from nations in Central Africa known to extract the Earth’s riches from the ground amid a variety of human rights abuses (http://nnw.fm/nBe1y). Consumer awareness and Congressional legislation have fueled a growing focus on the ‘ethical’ production of minerals for everything from jewelry to electronics in the years since, and Reign Sapphire Corp. (OTCQB: RGNP) has established such a standard of care in its global direct-to-consumer brand of custom jewelry.

While sapphire production doesn’t typically generate the violence common to diamond mining in some less industrialized nations, about a quarter of the gem’s supply comes from Madagascar, where diggers often work in dangerous conditions, rely on abusive practices such as child labor and don’t rehabilitate the land after mining (http://nnw.fm/bC0ZB). Reign Sapphire, based in Beverly Hills, California, relies on ‘responsible’ mining in Australia and guarantees that its products come from that country, are naturally authentic and are mined in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Australia’s sapphire industry has a history as colorful as the gem itself. According to the mining industry, the quality and quantity of sapphire from Australia was concealed by ‘many international vested interests’ for decades as part of an attempt to control the supply and price of the gems. As a result, Australian sapphires were deceptively branded as coming from other countries where the mineral supply is largely depleted, according to AustralianSapphire.com (http://nnw.fm/XV8r9). Australian producers have begun to take greater control of the marketing of their products in recent years, however.

The sapphire is an aluminum oxide (corundum) gem that is second only to the diamond for hardness in a natural substance. It’s so durable, synthetic versions of it are used for the windows of supermarket scanners and spacecraft. Rubies are a red or pink corundum sibling; all other colors, including blues, greens and yellows, are sapphires. The gem gained new attention and an exponential increase in sales when Prince William provided his deceased mother’s blue-white sapphire-and-diamond cluster as an engagement ring to Kate Middleton. Reign Sapphire CEO Joseph Segelman told the Huffington Post (http://nnw.fm/Q02vC) last year that his company’s focus on ethical production of the stone from the Australian industry means that the company “can guarantee the plot of land practically within a couple feet of where the sapphires were mined from. We can also guarantee that it’s been mined in an ethical way, that the topsoil is environmental and gets replanted [post mining] and made good.”

The Gemological Institute of America (“GIA”) estimated the annual retail sales value of colored gemstones such as sapphires at between $18 billion and $21 billion in a 2016 report on the rise in their popularity (http://nnw.fm/p3Dhb). The GIA noted that the greater transparency in the supply chain of sapphires, as compared to diamonds, is of value in today’s market not only because of the human rights concerns, but also because of the sentimentality of consumers who often prefer jewelry with a backstory to stones of unknown origin.

“Jewelry has always been an emotional purchase, and customers care about the ‘story’ behind their pieces,” the GIA wrote. “Millennials, who have grown up knowledgeable about fair-trade products and sustainability, expect that issues pertaining to human rights, environmental impact, and social consciousness are addressed in the supply chain for the products they wish to purchase.”

Reign Sapphire capitalizes on the desire to trace its jewelry’s supply chain as it delivers stones directly from the mine to the jewelry consumer as part of its direct-to-consumer model. Its niche brands also include its customized Le Bloc jewelry and the personally commemorative inscriptions of the Coordinates Collection.

“Miners are not marketers, marketers are not miners,” Segelman said in the Huffington Post interview. “I happen to have done both which is why I came up with this concept.”
