Algae Dynamics Corp (ADYNF)

Postby QualityStocks » Wed Jun 21, 2017 8:30 am

Algae Dynamics Corp is focused on developing proprietary research and products involving botanical oils derived from cannabis and algae.

The original core of the company’s product development strategy was the extraction of Omega-3 fatty acids from certain strains of algae with high concentrations of DHA to create various nutraceutical products. As a result of the many demonstrated health benefits of other botanical oils, most notably cannabis oil, Algae Dynamics developed a strategy aimed at developing products that combined the health benefits of algae and cannabis oils. Capitalizing on the burgeoning demand for cannabis oil and other smoke-free alternatives to marijuana consumption will help support ongoing initiatives to create and market research-driven product formulations.

Although the company is publicly traded in the U.S., business is conducted in Canada with no exposure to U.S. federal regulation involving cannabis. The Canadian cannabis oil extraction marketplace is projected to grow from C$1 million in 2015 to C$1.7 billion in 2020, which is more than a 1,000-fold increase. With the Government of Canada indicating a target date for full legalization on or before July 2018, numerous opportunities for sales in extracts and oils will open up very soon.

Using Colorado as a comparable example, a study performed by Mackie Research Capital found that 45% of dried marijuana users in the state would eventually convert to marijuana extracts and oils. This is because most consumers taking cannabis for medical purposes are increasingly looking for delivery systems that do not involve smoking marijuana. The market’s attractiveness can be further realized when considering that the Canada’s licensed producer marketplace is far less competitive with 45 current licensed producers for the whole country vs. 624 licensed cultivators in Colorado.

Collaborating with prominent Canadian universities is a core part of the Algae Dynamics’ plan to bolster cannabis extraction expertise, develop premium products and add to its portfolio of intellectual property. Through its agreements with the University of Waterloo and the University of Western Ontario, the company is focusing primarily on the use of extracts from cannabis oil and algae oil in the context of cancer as well as the development of new pharmacotherapies for mental health.

Near-term goals include expanding research and development work with existing and new Canadian universities, securing supply/service agreements with licensed producers, and submitting an application to Health Canada to become a licensed producer of medical marijuana and ultimately have a license to sell products derived from cannabinoids. Algae Dynamics also owns a proprietary technology for the cultivation of low cost, highly pure algae biomass, which will be developed as a vertical integration strategy in the future to support the need to source algae oil for research-driven product formulations. The management team leading these initiatives has nearly a century of beneficial experience spanning from management and process experience to successful fund raising and commercialization.

As part of its key objective to be the #1 research Canadian cannabis oil research-driven product formulator, the company has also formed a strong team of scientific and strategic advisors that complement ongoing R&D relationships and initiatives. Individuals who support the company’s initiatives include Dr. Jonathan Blay PhD, FRSB, FIBMS, Csci, CBiol, who performs research and product development on cannabis oil and its constituents in the context of colorectum, pancreas, breast and prostate cancers; and Dr. Steven Laviolette, BSc, PhD, who performs research and product development on cannabis oil and its constituents in the context of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and schizophrenia.

With such a strong foundation laid in the areas being pursued, Algae Dynamics is well positioned to execute on its carefully developed business plan to fast-track to revenue growth while having a longer-term strategy to build a sustainable enterprise-building opportunity in a rapidly expanding market.

Algae Dynamics Corp. (ADYNF) Continues Cannabis Oil Research as Potential Marijuana Shortage Looms in Canada

A 1,000-fold increase in the Canadian cannabis oil extraction market is expected, with growth from C$1 million in 2015 to an expected C$1.7 billion by 2020
The Canadian market is expected to see a conversion rate of 45 percent, which is similar to trends in Colorado, based on a Mackie Research Capital study
The Government of Canada expects to fully legalize marijuana nationwide on or before July 2018
Investors have had their eyes on Algae Dynamics Corp. (OTCQB: ADYNF), which has partnered with various Canadian universities (including the University of Waterloo and Western University) for access to research and to boost its cannabis extraction expertise. The company is now positioned to serve the medical and recreational marijuana markets. However, many are surprised to learn that, as legalization of recreational marijuana is set for July 2018, Charles Sousa, Ontario’s finance minister, has warned of a possible supply shortage.

The company has had at the core of its product development strategy the extraction of Omega-3 fatty acids from certain strains of algae with high concentrations of DHA, which is an important nutrient for brain, eye, and heart health, as well as the creation of various associated nutraceutical products. In light of the many demonstrated health benefits of other botanical oils, most notably cannabis oil, the company has developed a strategy aimed at developing new products combining the health benefits of algae and cannabis oils.

In a Bloomberg Politics article (http://nnw.fm/DfXQ2), an analyst suggested a supply shortage could give the government an excuse to delay the country’s marijuana program, even as the cannabis oil extraction market grows toward the billion-dollar mark. Government officials, however, have made it clear they want a supply that’s able to accommodate demand to bring down organized crime and illicit drug use. The initial plan is expected to allow sales of cannabis online and via mail.

The reasons for a potential shortage include difficulty in stocking enough inventory nationwide, expanding patient lists, and producers selling out of strains or refusing to take on new clients. In Canada, the number of registered medical marijuana users tripled in one year, and the medical market is already seeing shortages. Health Canada announced in May that it would expedite the license approval process. New licenses have been issued, but it can take a year or more for businesses to build up production. Recent studies have shown a 45 percent conversion rate (users of dry marijuana switching to cannabis oil products) in Colorado, which is anticipated in Canada as well. Licensing and expertise will be needed to meet this demand.

Despite uncertainties, demand and research and development in the cannabis market continue to surge. As Algae Dynamics aims to be the leader in cannabis oil research in Canada, it continues to pursue the compound as a treatment for conditions such as colorectal, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers, and for other conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, and depression. The company itself will submit a licensing application to Health Canada, so it can produce medical marijuana and sell cannabinoid-derived products. Its knowledge and cultivation know-how enables production of an algae biomass that is free of contaminants and high in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids.

The management, fundraising, process, and commercialization experience of the Algae Dynamics team has positioned the company for rapid growth. Despite the threat of a legalized marijuana supply shortage, the company is working hard with researchers, developers, and investors in a market that encompasses all of Canada and that extends well beyond the country’s borders.

Algae Dynamics Corp. (ADYNF) Poised for Expansion into Canadian Cannabis Oil Market

-The Government of Canada expects to fully legalize marijuana nationwide by July 2018
-The Canadian cannabis oil extraction marketplace is projected to grow from C$1 million in 2015 to C$1.7 billion in 2020
-Algae Dynamics Corp. is uniquely positioned to enter the Canadian cannabis oil market with its experience in algae oil extraction
-Algae Dynamics will capitalize on the under-served Canadian cannabis oil marketplace

Algae Dynamics Corp. (OTCQB: ADYNF) is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the full legalization of cannabis in Canada by leveraging its expertise and experience with algae oil extraction to expand into the Canadian cannabis oil marketplace. While Algae Dynamics is publicly traded in the U.S., its business is conducted in Canada with no exposure to U.S. federal regulation involving cannabis.

The original core of the company’s product development was extraction of Omega-3 fatty acids from algae with high concentrations of DHA for nutraceutical products. The company plans to leverage its oil extraction expertise in the cannabis oil extraction marketplace.

Due to the many demonstrated health benefits of both algae and cannabis oils, Algae Dynamics is now targeting a strategy to develop products combining the health benefits of both oils. Part of Algae Dynamics’ strategy is to research the possibility that combining certain algae and cannabis oils may have an enhanced effect for users.

An under-served market for licensed producers in Canada offers great opportunity for Algae Dynamics. Currently there are only 50 licensed producers in all of Canada, which has a population of 35 million – roughly the size of California. In contrast, in Colorado, there are now 624 licensed cultivators. Recreational use of cannabis in Colorado has been legal for adults since 2012.

The Canadian cannabis oil extraction marketplace is projected to grow from C$1 million in 2015 to C$1.7 billion in 2020 – more than a 1,000-fold increase. Capitalizing on the growing demand for cannabis oil and other smoke-free alternatives to cannabis consumption will help support ongoing Algae Dynamics initiatives to create and market research-driven product formulations. Research shows that, in Colorado, 45% of the users of dried cannabis will eventually convert to the use of extracts including oils. Similar trends are expected in Canada, thus expanding the market for cannabis oil.

Collaborations with the University of Waterloo and the University of Western Ontario will use university-level research for creating cannabis oil product lines, which could provide treatment for several types of cancer, as well as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and schizophrenia. Algae Dynamics will retain rights to any patents developed in collaboration with university research.

Algae Dynamics is led by a strong management team. Co-founder and CEO Richard Rusiniak brings more than 30 years of management, design and process experience. Rusiniak is the co-founder and former president, CFO and CTO of Cymat Corp. (TSX: CYM), which had a market valuation of more than $150 million when he left in 2002. Co-founder and President Paul Ramsay has more than 25 years of business development and management experience. Ramsay co-founded Cymat Corp. with Rusiniak and served as CEO and vice president of business development.

Ross Eastley serves as CFO, and Algae Dynamics’ board of directors includes P. Blair Mullin, managing partner of Apollo Ventures, Aldercreek Capital LLC, and Apollo Marketing LLC, which provide investment capital to emerging companies. Cameron McDonald, CEO of Coldwater Fisheries Inc., a leading Canadian aquaculture company, also serves on the board.

Algae Dynamics Corp. (ADYNF) Changing the Dynamic of Plant Based Therapeutics

- Proprietary system for high volume, low cost production of medicinal algae
- New research on botanical oil products derived from both cannabis and algae
- Combined health benefits of cannabis and algae create new exclusive market

People have always relied on plants as a primary source of medicine and healing. Hundreds of remarkably common plants, herbs, and flowers continue to serve all kinds of important medicinal and health purposes. Various strains of algae offer high concentrations of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and proteins. Brown algae have been used for weight loss, cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis, stress, heart disease and high cholesterol. Blue-green algae, scientific studies indicate, offer antiviral, antitumor, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antidiabetic, and antibacterial properties. Recognized as a powerful energy booster, blue-green algae are used for weight loss, hay fever, diabetes, stress, anxiety, depression, and to improve memory and digestive health.

With so many medically beneficial applications, its little wonder that Algae Dynamics Corp. (OTC: ADYNF) has focused on commercialization of its proprietary BiloSilo™ system for the high volume, low cost production of contaminant-free algae biomass. These cost-effective, highly-pure algae biomasses are rich in minerals, prebiotics, vitamins, and other nutritional substances and are exceptionally high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which can be added to a wide range of products. Algae Dynamics’s unique nutraceutical algae oil health products have now expanded to include pharmaceutical cannabis oils. Algae Dynamics has developed a vegetal strategy of producing products that combine the health benefits of both algae and cannabis oils. The synergistic effects of the two plant-based remedies hold tremendous promise, and the ability to sell and cross market the products to health conscious consumers gives the company real competitive advantages.

With an ongoing commitment to science, Algae Dynamics has engaged two Canadian universities to perform research and product development into the use of extracts from cannabis oil combined with the proven health benefits of Omega-3’s derived from algae oil. Research is focused on the use of cannabis oil and Omega-3’s in treatment of cancers and the use of cannabis derivatives for the development of novel pharmacotherapies for mental health.

Algae Dynamics is applying hard science to eons of plant-based medicine and human history to create unique and effective therapeutics that may very well may set a new standard in treating a multitude of ailments and propel the company far beyond expectations. With all that’s happening, it certainly appears that Algae Dynamics is fast on its way to realizing its vision of becoming a global leader in the formulation and development of health products from cannabis derivatives, algae oils and other botanical oils. New therapeutics from ancient remedies would seem certain to be embraced in the marketplace.

Algae Dynamics Corp. (ADYNF) is Developing Therapies that Offer Safer Delivery of Cannabinoids

- Focused on cannabis oil product development
- Collaborating with Universities of Waterloo & Western Ontario in R&D
- Strategy to capture market share of non-smoke MMJ products

For MMJ patients who don’t want to take up smoking, Algae Dynamics Corp. (OTCQB: ADYNF) is developing non-smoking delivery systems for cannabinoids. The company aims to produce new formulations of algae and cannabis oils that deliver health benefits without the attendant dangers that result from smoking.

Smoking is a killer. Statistics published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that ‘cigarette smoking kills more than 480,000 Americans each year, with more than 41,000 of these deaths from exposure to secondhand smoke’ (http://nnw.fm/fjLk5). Smoking–related illness costs the U.S. economy ‘more than $300 billion a year, including nearly $170 billion in direct medical care for adults and $156 billion in lost productivity’. Yet, tobacco use is a preventable cause of death and disease, which the 15 percent of the population who smoke can avoid, and many would do so if they are presented with non-smoking ways to use tobacco or cannabis.

Luckily, there is more than one way to skin the cannabis cat, for not only can it be smoked but it can be vaporized, and its oil can be extracted or tinctures may be made from it. Smoking is, undoubtedly, a common method of delivery. The simplest way of using cannabis is burning and smoking the (female) inflorescence. The flowers and buds of female plants contain the highest concentrations of cannabinoids, while male flowers contain much less. Leaves of both genders contain cannabinoids and may be mixed with the inflorescence to be smoked. Extracts from the plant are also processed to produce hashish, for example, which tends to be smoked as well. Cannabis is sometimes heated to produce a vapor that can be inhaled or the inflorescence may be immersed in a solvent, such as alcohol, to produce a tincture rich in cannabinoids.

The Algae Dynamics Corp. way, however, is the extraction of the oils from cannabis. In December 2016, the company announced a new oil extraction initiative in the Canadian cannabis industry (http://nnw.fm/8dQkw). It plans to deploy its existing extraction technology of algae oil to cannabis. To supplement this initiative, ADYNF is expanding its research and product development (R&D) partnerships with Canadian academia, planning to sign supply, service and sales agreements with existing Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR) licensed producers, and the company plans to submit an application to become a producer and seller of medical marijuana under the ACMPR.

The cannabis oil extraction industry is expected to hit C$1.7 billion by 2020. This exponential growth will, in part, be propelled by a desire for cannabinoid delivery methods that do not involve smoking. A study by Mackie Research Capital found that 45 percent of dried marijuana users in Colorado State would eventually convert to marijuana extracts and oils. If that is indicative of cannabis use generally, then ADYNF’s safer delivery methodology is soon likely to be very much in demand.
