Newport Digital Technologies (NPDT.OB) Signs Licensing Agreement with Microsoft

Newport Digital Technologies Inc. recently announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft to develop RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Technology) related applications for its Windows Mobile platform, utilizing the MS Windows Mobile operating system. NDT will offer a comprehensive line of mobile computing products, targeting RFID field applications for use in asset tracking, inventory management, and POS for various B2B markets.

NDT’s CEO, Gary DeMel, a twenty-eight year veteran of the semiconductor and high-tech industries, commented on the agreement. “We are very excited to work with Microsoft’s technology and business teams to develop the next generation of RFID computing devices by utilizing Windows Mobile with customized application suites. Newport Digital Technologies, Inc. announced this morning the successful introduction of its total RFID Solutions at the VICS Conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas. NPDT demonstrated its capabilities as a full RFID solutions provider, including displaying RFID tag programmers, kiosks, mobile computing readers, and tags.

Matthew Jones. Laboratory Manager for the Company’s RFID facility in Bentonville, Arkansas, said it was “important to showcase all of NPDT’s capabilities to potential partners and customers. The conference went a long way to introducing us to the RFID community and put us in the spotlight as the new participant with products and services superior to those presently available.”
