Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) - A Pioneer in Lithium-Electric Transportation

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: HYBR) has been actively engaged in the application of lithium-electric transportation since their creation in 2000, which has been changing the way people view sustainable automobiles, choppers, and virtually every other form of transportation. Having developed their innovative after-market conversion system, Hybrid Technologies became one of the first companies to provide a fully-electric vehicle that produces zero emissions and is 100% lithium-powered.

Every vehicle that Hybrid Technologies develops is equipped with the company’s proprietary Battery Management System (BMS). The system constantly monitors the vehicle’s battery pack for voltage, temperature, and charge balancing, keeping track of as many as 96 individual cells. When the operator has approximately 25 miles of travel remaining on the battery charge, the system emits a chime and places a display on the computer screen, alerting the driver that a charge will be needed for further travel. At that time, the driver can simply plug into a 220V socket for a partial charge or a full charge in as little as 6-8 hours. Since the batteries do not have a memory, there is no danger of compromising the battery by performing a partial charge.

Hybrid Technologies makes it easy for people who have the desire to drive lithium-electric transportation vehicles. Customers can browse and select an automobile to their liking from a database of well-known vehicles, and within 90-120 days, their selection is turned into a fully-converted and road-ready vehicle that delivers both highway speeds and visual appeal. Currently, Hybrid Technologies is branching out beyond conversions and launched their own custom electric choppers, which are available today. The company will be introducing a 100% in-house designed and built model electric car in late 2008. The company also intends to produce electric scooters, bicycles, and other various automobiles in the future.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Announces the Delivery of All Electric Chopper to Ecstatic New Owner

Hybrid Technologies today announced before the bell that it was very proud to deliver its latest customized, zero-emission chopper to Arnold Jones of Williams-Supply Lighting in Virginia. The company stated that its attention-getting motorcycle exceeded Jones’ wildest expectations.

The LiV(TM) RYDER was designed from the ground up and presented to Mr. Jones at an “everything Electrical” event hosted by Williams-Supply this past weekend. The event drew the attention of media outlets ABC-Affiliate WSET Channel 13 in Lynchburg and WDBJ Channel 7, who covered the delivery of the high-powered, lithium powered chopper to its new owner.

Hurricane Ike has caused retail gas prices to spike nationwide, causing anxious consumers to accelerate their search for long-term fuel alternatives. Coupled with the harsh reality of continued hurricanes and US dependence on foreign oil positions, Hybrid is well positioned with its line of all electric vehicles to capitalize on the growing demand for a solid solution to rising fuel costs while protecting the environment.

HYBR.OB Makes Impression on Fox and NBC News Affiliates through NASA Launchfest Participation in Maryland

Hybrid Technologies today announced after the bell that it impressed NBC and Fox affiliates at this year’s NASA Launchfest event. The affiliates covered the event as the company proudly displayed their unique variety of lithium-powered zero emission vehicles, including the LiVTM WISE, RUSH and RYDER during the day-long festivity.

Hybrid Technologies has had a long-standing relationship with NASA, who uses several of their vehicles for testing and has also provided valuable performance feedback to the company. Vehicles previously selected by NASA for use in the NASA KSC fleet include the Hybrid PT Cruiser, Lithium Smart Car, and a high-performance lithium-ion all-terrain vehicle as part of Hybrid Technologies’ military line.

NBC-affiliate, WBAL-TV reporter John Collins enthusiastically stated, “This is really stunning…something with a future!” The anchors weren’t surprised that the company’s cars have attracted so much attention as “gas prices are bouncing upward due to the effects of Hurricane Ike on refineries.”

Hybrid Technologies (HYBR.OB) Offers All-Electric Sports Car

Hybrid Technologies, Inc., (HYBR.OB), the Las Vegas-based developer and marketer of all electric vehicles and conversions, now offers a knockout of a sports car. For anyone who thought electric cars have to look and perform in a way that only a diehard environmentalist would love, the LiVinizio is a revelation. It looks like a genuine sports car because it is a genuine sportscar, with specifications to back up the claim:

> 0-60 in 4.0 seconds
> Top speed of 160 mph
> 160 miles on a single charge

The LiVinizio is also the base model being used by Hybrid to compete for the X-Prize, the $10 million competition to build and bring to market a 100+ MPGe (miles per gallon energy equivalent) vehicle that meets price, size, safety, and performance standards, and which people will want to buy.

Hybrid’s impressive lineup of LiV™ all-electric vehicles and conversions are based on the latest lithium-ion battery technologies, which offer several advantages over the much-talked-about fuel-cell approach. Fuel cells consume 4 times as much electricity per mile as similarly sized battery-powered vehicles. The driving range of battery-powered vehicles is twice that of fuel-celled vehicles of the same weight. Fuel-celled vehicles are considerably more complex to refuel and maintain than simple plug-in battery vehicles, and there are still safety and environmental concerns associated with hydrogen-powered fuel cells.

Hybrid is working closely with Superlattice Power (SLAT.OB), developer of a high-capacity lithium ion polymer battery, to extend the range of all-electric cars to 200 miles. Superlattice is also working with Hybrid on the X-Prize.

In May, 2008, Hybrid Technologies opened a fully-owned subsidiary in India to create greater in-house capabilities for research, and to tap into the vast knowledge pool of mechanical engineers in India.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Improves R&D to Create Power System

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: HYBR) opened a fully-owned subsidiary in India in May of this year with the intention of creating greater in-house capabilities for research and development (R&D), and to explore the vast knowledge pool of India’s engineers.

As the R&D department began to grow, Hybrid Technologies created a power system that consists of an integrated network of high performance components that are adaptable to multiple energy sources and are capable of powering a wide variety of end-user product applications. The power system uses three kinds of energy including solar, a fuel cell, or a generator to charge lithium-ion and other types of rechargeable batteries.

Hybrid Technologies was incorporated in Nevada in 2000 and is a development-stage technology company that continues to focus its resources and efforts on the development and marketing of lithium-powered vehicles and products used in commercial and residential properties. The company directs its attention to developing scooters, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and battery backup for home power systems, hoping to convert all to zero-emission, lithium-powered vehicles and facilities.

In an all-electric car, high-energy-density, lightweight, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are used. The batteries can be charged simply by using household electricity outlets, providing zero-emissions energy. Electric cars are extremely reliable and maintenance free. There is no need for oil or filter changes, or tuning.

Electric vehicles have less than 1/10th as many parts as a gas-operated car. There’s no engine, transmission, spark plugs, valves, fuel tank, tailpipe, distributor, starter, clutch, muffler or catalytic converter. One of the best way to reduce carbon emissions is to utilize the ever-cleaner, greener, and more renewable electricity grid to power transportation. Only grid-rechargeable cars can attain the end goal of zero-emissions and ensure fuel price stability.

Changing the World by Reinventing Power? Meet Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB)

If there’s one thing that the world seems to be fighting for, it would have to be oil. We search third world countries for oil, we go to war over oil, we pay a large amount for it, and at the end of the day, we can’t get enough of it. While this may be true today, there’s a company that wants to change that philosophy for tomorrow. That company is Hybrid Technologies.

The Las Vegas, Nevada-based Hybrid Technologies was founded in 2000 and built on the idea that there are technologies out there that have not been utilized.

As you may have already guessed, Hybrid’s Plug-In Electronic Vehicle uses electricity to move their vehicles’ wheels. A large portion of that electricity comes from the electric grid—by “plugging in.” These vehicles work by utilizing a combination of grid energy, regenerative energy from braking and, depending on the model, power from another onboard source such as an internal combustion engine or a fuel cell.

We need these electric options because, quite frankly, we need an option for oil. At this point, 96% of U.S. transportation is fueled by oil. More than half of that oil is imported, often from hostile nations. Oil dependence poses a threat to our economic security as price volatility and supply insecurity impacts markets and consumers. Hybrid Technologies offers the world an option that is affordable and friendly to the environment.

While Hybrid has already made a mark on the U.S., the company is branching out. On May 14, 2008, Hybrid opened a fully-owned subsidiary in India. With creative ideas that are environmentally friendly, Hybrid Technologies could be a major player in the near future.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Answers Questions about Electric Vehicles

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB), known for its ability to convert almost any vehicle into an all-electric vehicle (EV), finds itself having to educate a public more attracted to the idea of electric power than ever before. The unpredictable cost of gasoline has created a torrent of interest in electric cars, but many people still have only the sketchiest understanding of what it means to own and operate one. Below are some of the most common questions Hybrid staff has had to answer:

Question: You say plug-in electric vehicles are pollution free, but what about the pollution created at all the power plants needed to generate the electricity?

Answer: Even after counting emissions from electric generating plants, EVs produce 98% fewer pollutants than gas cars. Energy produced under the controlled conditions of a power plant results in less pollution than energy produced in individual gas burning cars, even if the power plant is coal, and many power plants are hydroelectric or nuclear. In addition, EVs are significantly more efficient at converting energy into mechanical power.

Question: Even if I save money at the gas pump, won’t my electric bill go through the roof to pay for recharging my car every night?

Answer: Even with a high-mileage gas powered car, it will still cost you more than using an all-electric car. Some estimates put savings at well over 50%, but individual savings obviously depend upon your local gasoline and electricity costs, and of course the gas vehicle’s mileage. And that doesn’t factor in the lower maintenance costs of an all-electric vehicle. (Lithium batteries, such as those used by Hybrid Technologies, can last the life of the vehicle.)

Question: Why is your company name “Hybrid Technologies” when you produce all-electric vehicles, and not hybrid cars like Toyota.

Answer: A “hybrid” is simply a combination of two things. In the case of Hybrid Technologies, it is the combination of electricity and proprietary battery technology components to produce unique high-performance all-electric vehicles.

Question: How long does it take to charge?

Answer: EVs are usually charged overnight while you sleep, using lower-cost nighttime electricity. A full charge from a 220 volt socket can usually be achieved in 6-8 hours.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) Gets Exposure at Expo and Plug In America Event

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. made a monumental stride towards their future when they successfully demonstrated their lithium powered vehicles at the 2008 ALT EXPO and Plug In America Event.

Hybrid, incorporated in Nevada in 2000, is a development stage technology corporation that is focusing its resources and efforts on the development and marketing of lithium-powered vehicles and products, as well as on commercial and residential properties. Everything from scooters, bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles, cars and homes are being converted successfully to zero-emission, lithium-powered vehicles and facilities.

Hybrid made a splash at the ALT Expo and then turned the heads of the automotive industry when they were invited to the Plug In America Event, which was held at the house of movie director Chris Paine who gamed fame when he directed the 2006 classic “Who Killed The Electric Car.”

Perhaps the most impressive moment for Hybrid came when they provided over 75 test drives for their popular LiV™ FLASH, an electric version of the BMW Mini Cooper. The eco-friendly crowd found the vehicle to be a solid solution to the ever-emerging fuel crisis we are currently experiencing.

While Hybrid astonished the crowds at the Expo and at the Plug In Event, they may have also made an important business connection that could be instrumental in the progress of the company. This connection was Green Rides, an eco-friendly dealer located in Campbell, California. Green Rides seemed extremely interested in the potential of bringing Hybrid’s vehicles into their lineup of fuel-alternative vehicles.

Why Hybrid Technologies (HYBR.OB) May Take Off

There was a time when everyone wanted a piece of the technology industry. Fortunes were made and lost in a short-span of time and even the savvy investor was not sure how to handle the once popular tech-craze. While companies in the technology industry have come and gone, one company has made a mark and may become a power player in the near future. That company is Hybrid Technologies.

In the last year, Hybrid has had its ups and downs with the stock ranging from $0.47 to $6.45. With that being said, the Las Vegas Company has only 15.65 shares outstanding and market capitalization of $41.5 million. Both of these factors could be beneficial to the company.

While the low number of shares does have some investors guessing, the veteran investor is well aware that a low number of shares outstanding mean a tighter float and a smaller marketplace for the stock. Since share prices are determined by supply and demand, a sudden increase in buying has the potential to overwhelm the number of shares and force an upward surge in the price of the stock.

When analyzing Hybrid’s market capitalization, the $41.5 Million figure makes it a microcap stock. While microcap stocks can be volatile, Hybrid has far greater upside than a larger company and microcap stocks have been known to double or even triple in size while they are still under the radar.

While some investors know of Hybrid Technologies, this stock is currently under the radar of Wall Street. Because Hybrid Technologies trades on the OTCBB, the stock is not yet known to the vast majority of Wall Street’s big money players. As Hybrid Technologies develops its business and increases marketing efforts, it could attract a larger following from Wall Street, and that could send the share price soaring to new highs.

Hybrid Technologies Inc. (HYBR.OB) May Capitalize on the Future

Lately, the American consumer has been pleasantly surprised when they have gone to fill up their gas tank. While the price of gas was hovering near and above the $4 range, prices have dropped to the $2.40 area. While consumers are happily surprised by the decrease in the price of oil, they forget that they are still paying much more than they were a year ago and that this price cut may be short lived. One company has not lost sight of this fact. That company is Hybrid Technology.

The Las Vegas, Nevada based Hybrid Technologies was founded in 2000 and built on the idea that there are technologies out there that have not been utilized. Hybrid has made national news because of their Plug-In Electronic Vehicles. The utilization of these electronic vehicles provides the American consumer with options that are crucial in today’s marketplace.

Economists have stated that while the price of oil has gone down (and may go even lower); this is only a temporary fix. Some feel that the last chance to hold the line on oil prices was at OPEC’s emergency meeting. At this meeting, the oil cartel decided to cut 1.5 million barrels of oil per day. Experts in the field believe what was needed to truly sustain the decrease in oil was a cut of about 3 million barrels per day. In the long term, we may see a jump in oil in the near future and this may not be a leap we are prepared for.

Hybrid Technologies counters this devastating possibility by offering an array of electric vehicles and is guided by strong leadership that may lead them to the forefront of the alternative automobile industry. While the price of oil may be unpredictable, the stability and innovation of Hybrid is not and the company may be a predominate force in the near future.

Hybrid Technologies Inc.’s (HYBR.OB) Recent Appearance at Pre-Emmy Gifting Suite was a Huge Success

Hybrid Technologies Inc. took the spotlight at the recent pre-Emmy Gifting Suite held by GBK Productions. The company’s LiVTM FLASH, an electric version of the BMW Mini Cooper, was the first electric vehicle to be shown at the prestigious event.

Impressed celebrities included Isaiah Washington who was shocked that the car was all electric, and Nancy Cartwright, voice of Bart Simpson, who encouraged others to go electric. Over 50 celebrities signed the Hybrid Technologies board, including Randy Jackson, Vern Troyer, the cast of Dancing With the Stars and Neil Patrick Harris, just to name a few, which was auctioned off for Global Green during the week of the Oscars.

Gavin Keilly, CEO of GBK, said, “I love being able to showcase such a unique vehicle.” Keilly has his company focused on raising funds and producing special events to create unique and memorable high-profile events to maximize fund-raising effort.

Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB): Why Electric Transportation and not Gas or Fuel Cell?

All-electric vehicles, such as those provided by Hybrid Technologies, are powered by high energy density and lightweight rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. These batteries, easily charged using household electricity outlets, are discharged during use to power electric motors with zero emissions.

Electric vehicles are very reliable and maintenance free. They do not require oil changes, filter changes or tuning and have less than 1/10th the number of parts a gas car has. Hybrid Technologies believes that the best way to reduce carbon emissions is to utilize the cleaner, greener, and increasingly more renewable grid to power transportation.

The electric powered vehicle is also superior to fuel cell powered vehicles for a number of different reasons. First, fuel cells consume 400% more electricity per mile than a similarly sized electric vehicle. They also emit 12.5 kg of Carbon-di-Oxide per kg of Hydrogen produced, deliver half the driving range of electric vehicles, and require a more complicated fueling system than an electric vehicle’s plug-in system.
